Position: Accounts Payable Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

    This position will assistant the A/P Manager wit the supervision of up to 25 employees. The assistant will oversee department in the absence of manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise A/P Supervisors on how to manage and administer workflow.
  • Assist in performance evaluations, written and verbal warnings and creating improvement plans.
  • Process miscellaneous check runs, reconcile accounts, researching back up and quality reasoning for invoice payments.
  • Handle vendor inquiries and troubleshoot dilemmas.
  • Printing of check registers, voiding checks, stop payments, post manual payments and process online payments.
  • Code and review all American Express Corporate card accounts and track regional travel expenses.
  • Process recurring payables and interest payments.
  • Prepare accrual entries, journal entries for month and year-end closings.
  • Process 1099 forms for all locations and 1096 forms for State and IRS remittance.
  • Interview candidates for open positions.
  • Create and update procedures, spreadsheets and manuals.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Solid management, interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and analytical skills.
  • Must be proactive and possess a strong work ethic.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have at least two years of related experience.
  • Some college a plus or equivalent work experience necessary.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of accounting software. Great Plains Dynamics a plus.
