Job Specifications:

    The Tax Manager reports to the Sr VP of Finance and is responsible for managing all U.S. federal and state tax compliance and planning for consolidated corporations as well as the joint venture partnerships. This position is also responsible for all tax planning projects, income tax accounting under IFRS as well as overall responsibility for all federal, state and local income, property, sales and other tax compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all federal and state income tax compliance for all consolidated corporations & joint venture partnerships including US withholding tax compliance.
  • Manage all federal, state and local property, sales and other tax compliance for all consolidated corporations & joint venture partnerships.
  • Prepare the financial statement income tax provision under IFRS including current and deferred taxes.
  • Manage federal & state domestic tax matters for the business, including strategic tax transactions, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Proactively participate on project teams and other departments within the Company (i.e., finance, legal, business development, etc.), ensuring U.S. federal, state, local and foreign tax issues are analyzed and considered as part of all transactions and projects. Including reviewing business transactions to identify tax implications and assist the Company in structuring the transactions in a tax efficient manner.
  • Coordinate interactions with outside advisors and internal departments on all tax issues
  • Manage staff in preparation of Sales Tax returns and Personal Property Tax returns.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Masters Degree in Accounting or Tax preferred
  • CPA required
  • 5-8 years of related experience including US federal taxation of consolidated corporations and partnerships as well as income tax accounting, preferably some mix of public accounting and industry experience
